Educational programmes for children in greek language are taking place within the framework of the temporary exhibition George Zongolopoulos – Interminable plenitude in the vastness of abstraction:

for ages 6 – 9 entitled “Hide under the umbrella!”

and 10 – 13 entitled “Walking with Zongolopoulos…”.

The aim of this year’s museum educational programmes is to familiarise children with the opportunities offered by sculpture in art and how the sculptor George Zongolopoulos exploits them in his work. In an experiential approach to his paintings, sculptures and constructions participants will come into contact with the artist’s life and influences, cultivating their ‘gaze’ in relation to abstraction and the works he bequeathed to public spaces in Athens, Greece and abroad.

Through interactive practices and games our young visitors with discover how new materials are assimilated into sculpture and will attempt their own personal interpretation of the works. They will move on to composition in collaborative groups and will experiment in creating their own kinetic artwork!

Participation cost: 5 €

Duration: 3-31 August, 19:00 – 20.30 p.m. daily
