In the New Wing, two very significant personalities were presented in parallel, Wassily Kandinsky and George Bouzianis. They both lived in Munich during the same period of Expressionism, but each experienced it in totally different ways.
54 works (oil paintings, water-colours, drawings) representative of all the artist's artistic phases went to make up this small retrospective exhibition of his work, which marked the thirtieth anniversary of his death. A fully illustrated bilingual catalogue (Greek, French) with informative texts and reproductions of all the works was published. The Bouzianis exhibition was organised in co-operation with the Municipality of Thessaloniki, where it was presented later in the autumn on the occasion of the "Demetria" festival.
