Wassily Kandinsky8 July - 18 September 1989

In the New Wing, two very significant personalities were presented in parallel, Wassily Kandinsky and George Bouzianis. They both lived in Munich during the same period of Expressionism, but each experienced it in totally different ways.

65 works (water-colours, gouaches, drawings) from the Guggenheim Museum of New York, the Musee National d'Art Moderne-Centre Georges Pompidou of Paris, the Lenbachaus Pinakothek of Munich and private collections. Once again photographic material from different periods in the life of the artist formed the introduction for the exhibition which was accompanied by a fully illustrated, bilingual catalogue (French, Greek) of the works.
