Balthus30 June - 17 September 1990

In the New Wing of the Museum an exhibition of the last living Master of our century was presented. In total, 121 of his works (oil paintings, water-colours, gouaches, drawings) were presented, having been brought together from various private collections and galleries abroad, published in a fully illustrated, bilingual catalogue (Greek, French).

After Andros, the Balthus exhibition was moved and presented in Rome, in the Villa Medici, in co-operation with the French Academy in Rome.

Also, on the occasion of the opening of the exhibition, a poetry evening dedicated to Andreas Embiricos was organised, with the screening of a film on his life and work, as well as recitations of his poems.
